Your Will

To put it simply

My heart is not my own

It no longer resides within me

I used to feel it beating

Took comfort in its steady rhythm

It’s hard to feel comforted though

When its home is now with you

You can do with it as you will

For it will never be mine again

Keep it safe if it pleases you

Or break it at your will

But please don’t try to give it back

I think surely, I would weep

It would no longer hold a purpose

For with you it now belongs

It’s a huge risk that I’m taking

Knowing it’s up to you

So on this cliff of love and hate I will stay

Rocking back and forth

And if you send a strong wind my way

I’ll hope it sends me back to love
